Bonnyrigg Rose were the visitors to Penicuik Park for this East Super League tie with Penicuik hoping to gain revenge for the 2-0 defeat at Bonnyrigg in November 2014. The game was played under very difficult conditions with the strong wind totally dominating play. The first chance fell to Penicuik in the 3rd minute when McCulloch was inches away from heading home a McCallum cross from the left wing. One minute later, Jancyzk set up McCallum, but his shot went straight to keeper. In the 5th minute, a through ball between two Penicuik defenders picked out Stewart, but in his haste he dragged his shot well wide of the goal. In the 10th minute, a Jancyzk free kick was tipped over the bar by Grant. From the corner, the ball went through a ruck of players and was cleared off the line. On the half hour, a free kick to Bonnyrigg beat the defensive wall but flashed narrowly past the base of Bejaoui’s right hand post. Penicuik took the lead in the 36th minute when a Patterson strike was blocked by keeper Grant, but the rebound fell to McCULLOCH who stroked the ball home from ten yards.

Three minutes into the half and a Killin strike went inches wide of the target with Grant scrambling across his goal line. Immediately afterwards Bonnyrigg attacked down the right and a neat lay off by Hyslop saw Bejaoui get low down to his left to save Court’s strike. Then, in their next attack, Bejaoui again had to be alert to save a powerful low shot by Stewart. Two minutes later, following a corner to Penicuik, McCallum got his head to the ball, but his effort went just wide of the goal. In the 58th minute, a clever ball over the top of the Rose defence by Ross picked out Killin, but his effort lacked power and was comfortably saved by Grant. Two minutes later, keeper Bejaoui was back in action tipping a Horne free kick over the bar. From the corner kick, the ball was headed back across goal and Bejaoui somehow got a hand to the ball to deflect away the shot from close range and the danger was cleared. In the 70th minute, McLaren got round the back of the Penicuik defence, cut the ball back to substitute Beaton who from six yards out missed the target. In the 72nd minute Stewart was booked for diving in the Penicuik penalty box. Into injury time and Killin created a chance for himself, but his left foot shot went high and wide of the goal.
