Report from the Fauldhouse United

House Joy.

A chance to put a bit of daylight between ourselves and a team a few places below us saw Fauldhouse away to strugglers Lochee United. Straight from the kick off Sam Scott had half a chance for Fauldhouse which was cleared away from danger. It only delayed the inevitable, Browne to Donnelly and his pass picked out young Brian Ross who calmly curled it passed Fotheringham in the Lochee goal... 1-0 Fauldhouse three minutes gone. Young Brian was involved in everything good coming from the House and had a fierce shot brilliantly turned over the bar. The second goal duly arrived with fourteen minutes on the clock after a great move, Brian Ross raced down the right hand side passed across the 18yard box to Ross Donnelly and with his back heel heading towards goal Andy McQuillan following in tapped it over the line at the post... Lochee Utd 0 Fauldhouse Utd 2. First chance for the home side came when Voight fired his header wide on seventeen minutes followed with a good save by Murphy for the House from Bannon. Fauldhouse continued to press causing the Lochee defence no end of problems. It paid off two minutes from the break big Andy McQuillan held up the ball and played in Ross Donnelly, he raced in on goal rounded Fotheringham and squared for Brian Ross to slide the ball home, half time... Lochee Utd 0 Fauldhouse Utd 3.

Second half saw the script torn up when Blackwood took advantage of some slack defending to score and reduce the leeway after only two minutes in...Lochee 1 Fauldhouse 3. The Bluebells had their tails up now all right and centre half Webster was inches away from reducing the scoreline further when he headed inches over with just quarter of an hour gone. Lochee were on top this half with the House out of sorts, their passing game strangely deserting them up to this point a stark contrast from the first forty five. The game went back and forth with not many clear cut chances falling for either side, although Ross Donnelly brought out a great save from Fotheringham in the Lochee goal when his glancing header was netbound only for the big keeper to dive across to his right and flick it away. Going into the last five minutes a setback for the House when Kirk leapt to head powerfully in the top right corner to set up a nervy last couple of minutes, but Fauldhouse held out for a final score... Lochee Utd 2 Fauldhouse Utd 3.

At half time a very one sided game should have seen the House with three points in the bag even at that early stage, full credit to Lochee for coming out second half and giving Fauldhouse a fright, but nonetheless a massive three points gained in the end which was the main objective....Finally just like to thank the Lochee United committee and especially the " Blue Belles" who dished out the hospitality and provided food for the majority of our support who travelled up plus of course our players and committee, the food was excellent and lots of it..well done ladies a credit to your club!
