Report from Fauldhouse United

Snow joke but we got all three points !

Our first competitive game since December 4th last year saw Hill of Beath coming to Parkview to first foot the House in the snow. The conditions were terrible with the game just managing to go ahead through the rain, wind and snow, referee Alan Hogg decided to start the match. Early on the Haws were first to show,Leishman and Adamson going close and on twenty minutes United goalie Andy Murphy had to look lively and rush out to smother at the feet of Adamson. Fauldhouse had their first attempt on the visitor's goal when Jordon Love brought out a fine save from Hall. A cross come shot from the best player on the park so far Adamson for Hill of Beath came back off the bar just before the half hour mark. Jamie Gallagher replaced Gary Fallon who went over on his ankle shortly after and both sides went in at the break goalless, half time Fauldhouse United 0 Hill of Beath 0.

It was the House first to show early on with only two minutes after the restart, Jamie Robertson ran on to a through ball and his shot was beaten out by the goalie and Gary Shanks reacted quickly to fire the ball high into the net 1-0 United. The lead wasn't to last long as the Haws replied five minutes later, Adam smashing in the equaliser... 1-1. The game was anyones at this stage as the match reached the mid-way point, Fauldhouse then got in front again when a great cross from Mark Wilkins picked out Jamie Robertson and his glancing header flew past Hall for 2-1. United pegged back the visitors for the next ten minutes, looking good for all three points but nearly shot themselves in the foot when in the space of five minutes had a trialist sent packing and Clark Campbell with two yellow cards also giving his marching orders. The remaining ten minutes and added on time seemed endless as the Haws surged forwards putting in cross after cross, but the House stood firm to collect all three points. Full time Fauldhouse United 2 Hill of Beath Hawthorn 1.

A great result and much improved second half display, with goal keeper Andy Murphy a stand out for United, let's hope we can carry on the determination we showed today into next week's Scottish Cup tie against Kilwinning Rangers.
