Report from Fauldhouse United

Vital Win

A crucial game for both sides languishing at the foot of the Superleague, bottom versus second bottom and the proverbial six pointer. It was first blood to the House with just six minutes on the clock, a Mark Wilkins shot was blocked by the keeper and Jamie Robertson was on hand to tuck it away... 1-0. Jamie again on nine minutes brought out another save from Gray in the Lochee goal then a blow a couple of minutes later new boy Andy McQuillan was subbed after picking up an injury to be replaced by Drew Ramsay. Lochee were not out of it by any means and on thirteen minutes a shot came back off Andy Murphy in goal and the Bluebell striker made no mistake in equalising ... 1-1. Both teams had chances as the game flowed from end to end with the stakes high. On thirty nine minutes Fauldhouse went in front as Mark Wilkins laid off the ball to Ross Donnelly he curled a fine shot into the top corner from 20 yards..2-1. Andy Murphy kept us in front on forty minutes with a great save and the score read at the break.. Fauldhouse United 2 Lochee United 1.

After a quick slit and forking to the park on certain areas to allow the game to continue with the constant downpour it took only five minutes into the second period for Lochee to level, after a quick break down the right hand side a fine cross to the back post was put away by the Bluebell striker...2-2. Lochee were going for all three points to their credit not settling for the draw, and Rees Smith had to look lively to clear off the line from a corner kick. Mid way through the second half the Bluebells went down to ten men after a meaty challenge on Ross Donnelly which didn't help their cause. The game looked to be heading for a drawas the time was running out, the House creating several chances but not putting them away. On eighty five minutes an almighty scramble in the Fauldhouse goal mouth was eventually cleared by Kevin Ross who blootered it up the park and away from danger. With only a minute or so left on the clock, a great move saw Drew Ramsay stepping over the ball and Mark Wilkins picked his spot from 16 yards and the ball nestled in the back of the net, to the delight of the home crowd, seconds later the whistle blew for full time... Fauldhouse United 3 Lochee United 2.
