Because Carnoustie had drainage problems with their pitch, the tie was switched to Penicuik Park and it only took nine minutes for Penicuik to take the lead. A free kick taken quickly by Gay saw McDermott cross the ball into the box where McCulloch headed the ball to the back post where JANCYZK cleverly flicked the ball over the full back and volleyed the ball into the roof of the net giving keeper MacPherson no chance. Fifteen minutes later, another free kick to Penicuik almost resulted in a second goal, but keeper MacPherson was quick off his line to deny Killin. In the 28th minute, a McDermott corner kick was met by White, but his header rattled off the post and was booted clear. One minute later, Carnoustie broke up the right wing and McIlravey’s cross was cleared to the edge of the box where Black volleyed the ball first time, but his effort went narrowly past the upright. In the 35th minute, Black again tried a long range strike but Bejaoui saved comfortably. Five minutes later, a lovely ball over the Carnoustie defence by Jancyzk gave McCallum a chance, but his first touch let him down and MacPherson nipped in to gather easily. At the other end, Bejaoui was at full stretch to tip a shot from the edge of the box round the post for a corner. From the corner, Black rose above the Penicuik defence, but failed to hit the target.

Half Time: Penicuik 1 Carnoustie 0

In the opening minutes of the second half, Carnoustie set a fast pace with some excellent first time passing, but failed to get past a stalwart Penicuik defence. Then in the 52nd minute, a defence splitting pass set Killin free. He rounded MacPherson but was up ended by the keeper and a penalty was awarded. Referee Smith then sent off the big keeper for denying a goal scoring opportunity. McCALLUM comfortably converted the spot kick, sending substitute keeper Ferrie the wrong way. In the 62nd minute, a great move down the right by McIlravey saw him play a neat one two with Simpson, but his dangerous cross to the front post was well cut out by Bejaoui. Two minutes later, a well worked free kick to Penicuik gave McCallum a chance from the edge of the box, but his effort went well wide of the goal. In the 77th minute, Penicuik substitute Rennie left his marker in his wake, got to the goal line and cut the ball back to McCallum, but an excellent interception saved the day for Carnoustie. Despite being down to ten men, Carnoustie still played some excellent football and Black came close with a shot that was well held by Bejaoui. Then in the 86th minute the game was put to bed when a neat passing move by Penicuik saw RENNIE curl a great left foot strike past Ferrie into the far corner of the net.

Final Score: Penicuik 3 Carnoustie 0
