Penicuik were quickly off the mark when, in the 3rd minute, a neat one two between Killin and Jancyzk saw JANCYZK curl the ball into the net off the far post. In the 12th minute, a fine passing move earned Penicuik a corner kick from which CUNNISON out jumped the Camelon defence to head powerfully home. Two minutes later, a Gay free kick from the edge of the Camelon penalty area got past the defensive wall but went inches over the crossbar. In the 25th minute a powerful 30 yard strike by Ure was well saved by Bejaoui low down to his left. On the half hour, a Gay cross was flicked on by McCulloch to McCallum but keeper Clark pulled off a great save to tip the ball round the post for a corner. From the corner kick, YOUNG got to the ball first to head home. Two minutes later, Camelon broke quickly up the right wing and Wright sent over a first time cross into the heart of the Penicuik penalty box, but Cunnison was alert to the danger and headed the ball away for a corner.

Half Time: Penicuik 3 Camelon 0

Three minutes into the half and a long clearance by Bejaoui was flicked on to Killin in the box, but keeper Clark rushed out to nip the ball off Killin’s boot. In the 53rd minute, Bejaoui was brought into action to tip a strike round the post for a corner to Camelon. Minutes later, Gay and Killin combined to give McCallum a half chance, but his effort flew over the bar. Then and interception by Killin set up Gay, but again Clark rushed from goal to clear the danger. At the other end, Camelon came close with a Ure strike that went a foot over the bar. Camelon upped the pace of their game and their first time passing was excellent, but in the last third of the park they failed to create any chances and keeper Bejaoui was rarely tested. As the half progressed, they were the better side but just could not break down the solid Penicuik defence. They continued to press right up to injury time and did create two chances when McLaren was denied by a great tackle by Cunnison and then Stevenson saw his powerful shot blocked inside the six yard box.

Final Score: Penicuik 3 Camelon 0
