Report from the Fauldhouse United

No joy.

A chance to pit our wits against the defending champions saw us take on Bo'ness United away. Seven minutes on the clock and the first effort on goal fell to the home side as Andy Murphy was crowded out in the box jumping for a ball he was relieved to see it come back off his post. The men in blue were calling all the shots up till now but without making any inroads . It took half an hour for the House to get a decent sight at goal with a mistake by keeper Peat who rushed out to clear the ball but only succeeding in finding Mark Wilkins who fired it towards goal and it went inches wide. As half time approached Bo'ness looked the better side although Fauldhouse were still not out of it....Half-time Bo'ness United 0 Fauldhouse United 0.

Second half saw Michael Browne coming on for Euan Ramsey as Fauldhouse took a more direct approach, Drew Ramsay and Ross Donnelly combined to play in Gary Shanks and his fierce effort flew by the post. The first ten minutes were looking promising but some haphazard defending led to the opener for the home side Kevin Ross was caught short and dispossessed on the edge of the eighteen yard box and with only Andy Murphy to beat Gribben said thank you very much and tucked it away...Bo'ness Utd. 1 Fauldhouse Utd. 0. The game was finished as a contest with quarter of an hour to go as the ball pinged about the box it was eventually stabbed home by Leiper... Bo'ness Utd. 2 Fauldhouse Utd 0. After coming on as a substitute Craig Chilton was booked and minutes later shown a second yellow card and sent off and what was a hard task became an impossible one now! Another slack goal given away with three minutes left made it 3-0 and at full time the final score...Bo'ness United 3 Fauldhouse United 0.

A three goal margin flattered Bo'ness a bit although they were the better side but two suicidal goals brought about our downfall, let's hope we can learn from our mistakes.
