Report from Dundonald Bluebell

South League

Dundonald    3       -     Rosyth  0

Walton,Duffy,Morrison

It was back to league business for Dundonald after last week’s Scottish Cup victory. Rosyth were today’s opponents, a team who always provide a tough test for their hosts. Dundonald put the visitors under pressure from the first whistle and on loan midfielder Bradly Grieves had the first chance of the match but his shot went just over. The home side did take the lead when Walton played a nice one two with Wallace before slotting the ball into the net. Dundonald doubled their lead, before half time, when Morrison was brought down inside the box and Lee Duffy scored from the spot.

The home side had the wind behind them in the second half and could have increased their lead when Walton drove into the box and picked out Wallace with his pass the strikers shot was well saved but he will feel that he should have done better. Dundonald had more chances to increase their lead Tommy Carr saw his shot go just wide and substitute Young thought he had scored but his shot came back of the post. Rosyth then started to put Dundonald under some pressure and where unlucky not to score but Carr was on hand to clear the ball off his own line. Lennox, back in goal for Dundonald, also made a fine a save with his feet to deny Rosyth. With seven minutes remaining Dundonald got their third when Morrison scored with a free kick from the edge of the box.

Dundonald will be glad to get three points from this match as conditions where poor the pitch was heavy and started to cut up and the strong wind made good football hard to play.
